Army vets in Afghanistan

Do you imagine vets looking after hamsters or driving around the countryside? Army vet Captain Miles Malone, who works in Afghanistan, might change your mind. Watch him in action in the video clip.

Captain Malone and his colleagues run a new clinic which helps local farmers and shepherds by vaccinating their animals.

“A lot of these animals have never been treated for parasites before, so what we are doing directly improves the quality of the milk and meat that animals are providing,” Captain Malone said.

“Improving the village farmers’ diet and standard of living has a bearing on their own health and that of their community.”
